Principal's Report
Dear Parents/Guardians, Students and Friends of Prospect High School,
While COVID-19 has to an extent impacted day to day operations at our school over the course of the year, the resilience and commitment of our students and staff has been incredibly impressive, maintaining a clear focus on teaching and learning and continuing to build and enrich our school culture.
This was particularly evident in our whole school assembly last Friday. The first assembly since COVID impacted. The whole school assembly last Friday allowed us to invite family and friends to join us in our whole first school celebration for some time. In fact, it was the first opportunity that our current year 8 students were able to experience in a whole school setting since joining Prospect High School at the beginning of 2021!
The formal celebration and introduction of our Student Leadership Board (SLB), musical items, grade 7-10 academic and effort recognition certificates and sequential large screen images from term one and two highlighting students and staff participating in an array of learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom and extra curricular passions and interests were showcased. The intent listening and viewing from our audience highlights the fact that celebrating achievements has a significant impact on building community culture! We are very pleased that this part of our school community is slowly and safely being reintroduced! A huge ‘shout out’ to the families and friends that supported our assembly. Please see the gallery below for some photographs.
Once again, the willingness of our staff to support these activities and provide a multitude of activities ‘beyond the classroom’ for your children is greatly appreciated.
Uniform Reminder:
As always, it is fantastic to see Prospect High School students proudly wearing our school uniform. Our school community takes great pride in our uniform – to uphold high expectations we have been reminding students of our schools uniform policy. We encourage families to review our uniform policy. Here is a snip of the key points in our uniform policy. The full policy can be found on our school website.
Payment at the School Canteen:
We also wish to remind students to pay by cash, card or order their lunch via the QKR app at our school canteen. We request students don’t pay by phone – students will be unable to pay by phone or smart watch from the start of Term 4.
