Grade 9/10 Catering students have been honing their cake decorating skills, completing a couple of celebration cakes for staff recently.

Grade 10 students Sofia, Hayley, Tori, Georgia W, Georgia R and Dani all expressed interest in completing an extension task and considering their love of all things baking we decided that cake decorating would be the task that challenged them.

 We made a two tiered chocolate cake with buttercream frosting and fresh flowers for a staff member’s wedding and a fun Trolls inspired rainbow cake for a teacher’s 3 year old niece! Both cakes involved planning and designing, preparation and adding the final flourishes to finish.

I would like to congratulate all the students on their amazing work ethic and attention to detail. Well Done!
