  1. Why did you want to be involved in this production?

I’ve been interested in theatre for a long time, seeing previous Prospect High School and local college productions in the past really inspired me, and it seemed like it would just be a great experience.

  1. Who is your favourite character and why?

I don’t have a favourite character, but if I had to choose, I would probably say Iago (Jafar’s sidekick), because they are a sort of chaotic-fun character with a good personality.

  1. What is your role in this production and what are you enjoying about it?

I play Jafar. Jafar is a good role, because he has a lot of power and he knows that, so as Jafar you ‘stride’ and know everyone else’s place. I like that he has a few scenes that really show you what he’s about, trying constantly to become sultan of Agrabah.

  1. What’s the biggest challenge been for you so far?

Probably when some of the rehearsals don’t go as fast as we have planned. Getting behind schedule isn’t the worst thing, but it doesn’t always feel easy to get back on track.

  1. What are you most excited for?

I love the idea of performing on stage, the audience following along. I love when you can feel the character change the mood of the room, so I would have to say that I’m most excited for performing to the public.

  1. What’s been the most enjoyable thing about production so far?

The people. We truly have a great class both on and off stage, everyone is helping to make this production great.

  1. What would you say to people who want to be involved in production in future years?

Do it. It is an amazing experience and you’ll be glad you did it. It doesn’t matter who you are, if you want to perform then perform as best as you can, production is a great way to do that.

*Did you know that we are using double casting this year?

This means that Imogen will play Jafar for the Tuesday Opening Night Performance, Wednesday Night Public Performance and Thursday School Matinee; and a citizen of Agrabah on the Wednesday School Matinee, and Thursday Night Public Performance and Friday School Matinee
