News from the Eagle’s Nest
From the café:
The café space continues to change and become a warm and welcoming hub for hands-on learning. In addition to our Grade 9/10 Catering Classes, who are rostered on each week, we have Tier 2 and 3 programs for engagement and Pathways to Work class for Grade 11 and 12. These groups make coffees for staff and also make hot chocolates for students to sell in Recess 1 on Mondays and Tuesdays. On Tuesdays, we have added egg and bacon rolls to the menu which have proved popular on our recent wintery mornings. We have welcomed our Student Leader Board into the space, and they serve hot chocolates and milkshakes to our students on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Our recent Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea was a resounding success due to all these group’s dedication and commitment. We raised $350.00 for this worthy cause.
From the kitchen:
We continue to provide homemade sweet treats for purchase in the café, and this term we have made the Friday canteen specials for students to purchase. Our menu for these was decided by the catering students, and so far the most popular has been the butter chicken. We continue to cater for school events and each Wednesday we have our winter warmer- lunchtime meals for staff served from the slow cooker with a homemade bread roll. Later this term and early next term we will feature our ‘terrific toasties’ in the café. Watch out on Facebook for further details.
Eagle’s Nest Catering team is keen to expand and is available to cater for functions outside the school. Please see the catering menu attached. All our food is made in our council registered kitchen and students are taught and supervised by an experienced chef and teachers. Dietary considerations are catered for in all areas.
