From the Library

Prospect High Bookclub

An enthusiastic group has started meeting in the library every Monday at lunchtime. At bookclub meetings, members share a book that they are reading, or have just read. They discuss the different types of fiction genres and look at and review new books in the library. The group will also talk about future literacy events that can be held in the library. If you have a love of books and want to chat with others about them, then come along at the start of lunch.

Fresh Ink – An Anthology by various authors

Short Stories

Thirteen of the most accomplished YA authors deliver a label-defying anthology that includes ten short stories, a graphic novel, and a one-act play from Walter Dean Myers never before in-print. This collection addresses topics like gentrification, acceptance, untimely death, coming out and poverty, and ranges in genre from contemporary realistic fiction to adventure and romance. It will inspire you to break conventions, bend the rules, and colour outside the lines. All you need is fresh ink.

Sign of the Four – A Sherlock Holmes Graphic Novel adapted by Ian Edginton

Graphic Novel

"In God's name, what does it mean?" "It means murder..." When Miss Mary Morstan calls on 221B Baker Street, the "utterly inexplicable" story she tells stirs the heart of Dr. John Watson, and rouses his friend, Sherlock Holmes, from his self-induced lethargy. For who else but London's only unofficial consulting detective could possibly solve the mystery of the disappearing Army officer, the one-legged man, his barefoot accomplice, the missing treasure-chest, and... the "sign of the four"?
