Prospect Eagles Footy Wrap
Round 4
The 9/10 Girls in round four hosted Cressy District High School in an encounter that proved to be very competitive and played in great spirit. Unfortunately for Prospect, the girls did not come away with a win. However, the team seemed to have a great time enjoying a game of football on what was a lovely afternoon.
The 7/8 Boys A team had a day out in their first home game of the season against Queechy High School. Final Scores: Prospect 83 - Queechy 16. The team quickly settled and felt right at home as Oscar was lively early in the forward line and finished up with four goals next to his name. Lewis, Henry, Connor and Kane were all showcasing their improvement as they played their best games for the season so far. It was a beautiful day for football and the game was enjoyed by all. The team remain undefeated and are looking forward to their next challenge against the St Patricks College Grade 7 team.
Round 4
The 7/8 Boys A team had a day out in their first home game of the season against Queechy High School. Final Scores: Prospect 83 Queechy 16. Round 4 for the 9/10 Boys resulted in the team getting back to winning ways. After a couple of difficult couple of weeks against some top division one teams, our Prospect 9/10 boys faced an away game at Brooks High School. The game was highlighted by a solid defensive performance throughout the entire match which contributed to the Final Scores Prospect 54 Brooks 30. Noah, Solomon, Brayden were the best performers for the day, in what was a very tough and competitive game.
Round 5
Round 5 consisted of just two games of football for Prospect High as the 7/8 Boys A team and the 9/10 girls had the bye. 7/8 Boys B continued their undefeated season with a huge win against Kings Meadows High School. In what was the second time they have faced the Kings Meadows outfit this year already, the score at the final siren was Prospect 134 Kings Meadows 8. Brody was crucial in setting the standard from the beginning with 3 goals in the first quarter. Owen and Archie were among the standout performers for the day.
The round 5 encounter for the 9/10 Boys involved a challenging division one Queechy High team. After returning to winning ways in round 4 the 9/10 boys were unable to back it up again in round 5 going down Prospect 29 Queechy 94. The boys are keen and looking forward to their next match up against Deloraine High School, with continuous improvement being the overall goal.
A special shout-out must go to our great ground staff, who put in a lot of hard work to ensure our sports grounds are always looking fantastic.
