ROUND 2

9/10 Girls VS Kings Meadows - Final Scores: Prospect 12 Kings Meadows 29

Round 2 for the 9/10 girls involved a great opportunity for students to play on the NTCA Ground, a well-maintained community ground. The final scores were Prospect 12 and Kings Meadows 29. Prospect matched Kings Meadows in the first half with some great tackling and goal kicking.  In the second half, some strong passages of play by Kings Meadows resulted in two quick goals! Prospect High tried hard but could not gain the momentum to match the scores.  The whole team was commendable in their effort. Zara Adams was outstanding as Captain and player.

The 7/8 Boys B team took advantage of some very difficult conditions as heavy wind and rain played a pivotal part in their first game of the year. The scoreboard at the final siren read Prospect 68 and Kings Meadows 7. Strong willpower from the team led to a comprehensive victory which gave the team plenty of confidence after participating in their first-ever school football game for Prospect. Some highlights from the game included a great performance Elliot Nolan through the midfield, pivotal around the ground efforts from Jaxson Lauw, a high pressure and effective tackling game from Mark Giovanof, and a dominant ruck performance from Chance Ebery. Chance topped off his game with a spectacular goal from a set shot on the boundary line.

The 9/10 Boys were confronted by an impressive performance from the Riverside High team. The team learned a lot from the game and will no doubt take this forward into the next match. Ash Shady, Cooper Wilson, and Cy Baird led from the front, showing some good determination in what was a difficult encounter. Final Scores: Prospect 15 Riverside 107

ROUND 3

After the BYE in round 2 the 7/8 A Boys team were tasked with the tough opponent of LCGS on their home ground. The side played with a spirited full team effort for the entire four quarters which was highlighted by Will Crawford’s efficient game in defence along with Rowan Allen and Campbell Whitney dominating through the midfield. The final score read Prospect 45 and LCGS 16. The team had a great sense of belief in their ability after the game and will look to keep learning and improving each game.

A high-scoring performance from our 7/8 B team was highlighted by solid performances from Oscar Mithen and Mark Giovanof. Finals scores: Prospect 93 Queechy 32. After 3 rounds of football, both 7/8 teams remain undefeated.

It was a tough round 3 encounter for our 9/10 boys who, despite working hard all afternoon, ended up on the end of an 86 point defeat. Final scores: Prospect 21 KMHS 107. The most influential players throughout the game were Ethan Yates, Riley Prewer, and Jai Whitehouse. A memorable moment from the game was Jai’s pack mark which he took sitting three deep in the pack.

The 9/10 girls fought out the entire game despite only having 12 students playing due to sickness and injury. Starring performances from younger players Isabella and Hunter helped the team post a competitive score. Finals score: Prospect 18 Queechy 28. Imogen and Georgia also showed some great signs as the side looks to keep improving week on week.
