Science News
What a fantastic start to the school year in Science. Grade 7 students are working on Scientific Method, being introduced to our Science laboratories, and how to use Bunsen Burners for the first time. Grade 8 students are learning about plant and animal cells with many of these students having never used microscopes before. Grade 9 students are investigating the interaction of Human Body Systems, such as the Nervous, Circulatory, Immune and other systems. Grade 10 are working on the Physics Unit, involving investigations using ticker timers, speed, velocity and Newtons 1st, 2nd and 3rd Laws.
Additionally, we were pleased to be able to take some of our new microscopes to Glen Dhu Primary School to their Welcome Back BBQ. Thank you to our volunteer SLB members, Ruby and Niekaylah, for helping out with the very interested young children and adults. They had a great time. From the teachers in the PHS Science Department, we look forward to a wonderful year of inquiry, ingenuity, investigation and all the amazing things that are interesting about Science.
