As part of a unit on Symbolism and Metaphor students have developed ideas to use symbolism in their own artworks. We have investigated how artists use symbolism and transferred this knowledge to create our own artworks. Students have explored a range of materials through planning in their journals.

Title: Freedom and Trapped

Materials: Charcoal pencil, fine line pen, and coloured pencil.

My artwork represents both "freedom" and "trapped". The idea of being able to let things go, but some things still hold you back. I have used different drawing techniques to create this image. I am happy with the end result.

Materials: Dye, paint, markers and riso print.

My artwork represents Caution. The idea of a Police scene, maybe a murder. I have used lots of techniques to create this artwork. I’m happy with how it turned out.
