Years 11/12 Report
The subject Personal Health and Wellbeing doesn't just focus on physical health, but also emotional health. Our current focus has been on building Emotional Intelligence through learning about how the body experiences emotions and how the brain interprets these symptoms as feelings. As part of this exploration, we've also been considering who we are as individuals and those qualities that we value most in ourselves and others. It is through understanding ourselves and the world around us, that we can better make choices to boost our wellbeing and consolidate our sense of self. Through a process of exploration, mindfulness and discussion, we refined our lists of values and have created our collective "Value's Tree" to remind us that while we are all unique, we are all part of a community and need one another.
Learning about one-point perspective has been a challenge, but creating a picture that accurately reflects this has been even more of a challenge. Using some basic scene guidelines, art students created their one-point perspective scene and then finished it in the media of their choice - ink, pencil or watercolours.

Kiara and Olivia have been collaborating in a vertical-peer activity. They have been sharing ideas and talents to create a logo for the Eagle's Nest Cafe. The students have had some inspirational sessions playing with design ideas, colours and media and creating their logos. We can't wait to see the finished product.
