This award recognises the student with the most outstanding results in Grade 10 this year, and the 2020 Dux of Prospect High School.

This award is for a student who shows respect and presents a positive image of themselves and the school to others in our community.

Caltex Best All-Rounder Student Award (sponsored by Caltex)

Winners of the Caltex All Rounder are characterised by their commitment to achieving their best in all pursuits, setting an outstanding example and assisting their peers. The student displays or possesses qualities of academic achievement, positive attitude, abilities in a number of sports, creative ability, and good character

Student of the Year Award (sponsored by the School Association)

This student displays an excellent manner, conduct and courtesy, has an excellent attitude to study, and has displayed an active involvement in all aspects of school activity.

The 2020 recipient of this award is Isabella Rigby

 

Rodney Rigby Memorial Shield for House Competition

This shield is presented to the overall winner of the school’s Cross-Country, Swimming and Athletics carnivals. Accepting the award on behalf of Impara is Grace Commins and on behalf of Warialda is Jack Wood

Lees Coaches Beat the Barrier Award (sponsored by Lees Coaches)

This award is presented to a student who has overcome significant barriers to complete their Grade 10 schooling. 

The 2020 recipient of this award is Vanessa Hallows

UTAS City of Launceston Springboard to Higher Education Bursary

This award is presented to a student who lives in the Launceston municipality and this bursary is to assist them with expenses associated with further study over the next three years. The award demonstrates support of their potential and encourages them towards entering university.

Riawunna Wurakara to Higher Education Bursary (sponsored by the Riawunna Centre for Aboriginal Education in partnership with the Scholarships and Prizes Office at the University of Tasmania)

City of Launceston Lions Club Scholarships (sponsored by the City of Launceston Lions Club)

These scholarships are awarded to two students who have been selected for their commitment to study, their desire to succeed, and their capacity to work hard towards all aspects of their further education.

Inaugural 2020 Australian Olympic Changemaker Award

This award is given in recognition of sporting achievements and demonstration of those endeavours which are consistent with the aims and the spirit of the Olympic movement.

Most Improved Student Award (sponsored by the Summerdale Medical Centre)

This award goes to a student who has made a significant and sustained improvement in their personal growth throughout high school.

This award goes to a student who has consistently displayed an outstanding attitude to schoolwork throughout the year.

This award goes to a student who: Presents a positive image of young people and is unassuming, Contributes considerable effort into his/her chosen activities, Does not hold an official school position.

Citizenship Awards (sponsored by the Summerdale Medical Centre)

These awards recognise students who show allegiance to the school, have a strong sense of loyalty, maintain a good rapport with staff and fellow students, have respect for the rights, property and the welfare of others.

Ivan Williams Memorial Best All Round Sports Award

This award recognises a student who displays teamwork and commitment, provides leadership in sport, and has well-developed skills across a number of sports.

Lions Club of Hadspen South Esk Service Award (sponsored by Lions Club of Hadspen South Esk)

This award is presented to the student who is recognised for outstanding service to the school. This student is willing to work for the benefit of other people, provide valuable service to the school, engage in activities which positively benefit others in the school, and use their own time in serving the school.

These awards are presented to two students who have the capacity to positively influence others either individually or in a group, are enthusiastic and can generate this enthusiasm in others, assist and empower others, and care for the welfare of others.

ADF Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Award (sponsered by the Australian Defence Force)

This program has been created to acknowledge the achievements of young people who have demonstrated outstanding qualities of leadership and teamwork either within our school or the wider community. The recipient of this award is a student who is recognised for their qualities of teamwork, leadership, integrity and initiative.

This award is presented to a student who has displayed leadership in our school community.

Richard Gough Memorial Award (sponsored by The Rotary Club of Kings Meadows)

Richard Gough was a Head Prefect at Prospect in 1969, this award is in his honour. This is presented to a student who has been outstanding within our school community.

Respectful Student Award (sponsored by the Hon Jeremy Rockliff MP, Deputy Premier and Minister for Education and Training)

This recipient of this award demonstrates positive and effective interactions with others and their environment on the basis of responsibility, integrity and accountability to an outstanding degree.

The Will Robinson Memorial Award

This award is presented to a student who displays sustained effort, commitment and excellence whilst working towards a clear goal in their chosen interest.  The goal can be in the areas of sport, music, culture, community or academic excellence.  This student has an exemplary attitude and conduct which embody the values of Will Robinson, these being passion, commitment, tenacity, sacrifice and compassion. The award’s funds will assist in helping this student achieve their goal through purchase of equipment, travel, tutoring or training.

Student Government Board Peer Prize is (sponsored by the Student Leader Board)

This award is chosen by the whole grade group and presented to a student who is judged by their peers as someone who is highly supportive of all, not just within their immediate friendship group. They are inclusive of students from all grades, display loyalty at all times to the school and its broader community including students, school staff and parents, and be considered as a ‘giving’ person – someone who doesn’t consider themselves first but considers the welfare of others.
